Afternoon Tea at Sketch

28 March 2016

I finally got the chance to visit Sketch London last week after months of seeing pretty pictures of the famous pink room all over Instagram. The room is covered in witty artwork and drawings by David Shrigley, I wanted to look at every single one as some of them were quite unusual!

The crockery was also really cute as they all had different messages on them! Michelle and I had the sketch afternoon tea with pink champagne. We had an assortment of finger sandwiches from smoked salmon to quail egg and my favourite - the comté cheese panini. The best part is that everything is refillable, yes everything! The rest of the tiers were filled with different types of cakes and pastries, I'm not usually the biggest fan of fancy cakes but I really enjoyed the pistachio choux and chocolate gâteau.

The waitress then brought us warm scones with clotted cream and jam which was so delicious. By this point we were both stuffed and thought that it had finished until the waitress offered us chocolate and caramel fondant cakes! I would definitely recommend Sketch if you're looking for a tasty afternoon tea in a quirky and fun environment. I love the concept of the room and I'm excited to see what the next artist does as it changes every 2 years.

Ps. Make sure to go to the toilets if you ever visit, it's designed like a space ship with egg shaped porta-loos!
